Xiaomi 13 Ultra: the high-end smartphone will not arrive before April 2023

You will probably have to be patient before you can get your hands on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. This one will be released well after most of its rivals, which will arrive one by one from the beginning of February.

While we are already expecting the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro at the MWC show in Barcelona from February 27, some were also expecting to see the manufacturer’s next premium smartphone arrive alongside them: the Xiaomi 13 Ultra . However, a source had confirmed to us that the device would arrive laterand this information has now been corroborated by several famous leakers.

Indeed, on the Chinese social network Weibo, Ice Universe and Digital Chat Station announced that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will arrive well after the MWC. The latter announces that it will be released after the Oppo Find X6 and X6 Pro, and even after the Honor Magic 5. Ice Universe even gives us a little more detail on the release window.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will not be launched in March 2023

In its publication, Ice Universe announces that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will not arrive in March, and that it will therefore be necessary wait until April to discover the flagship. This confirms other previous reports, which announced a presentation at the very beginning of April.

Xiaomi would simply like give the Xiaomi 13 Pro time to win over fans. When the Pro and Ultra versions were released at the same time, as was the case with the Xiaomi 12S, the Xiaomi 12S Pro was quickly eclipsed by the more high-end model, in particular because of the better photo performance.

The same should be true for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. We already know that the smartphone will use no less than four large photo sensors on the back, a first since the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra. The device will bet on 4 x 50 MP sensors, including three next-gen IMX858 cameras signed Sony. Xiaomi has therefore probably also postponed the launch for wait until these new sensors are available on the market. The 1-inch IMX989 main camera is also going to offer a variable aperture, giving it a size advantage over its main competitors.
