Alan Wake Remastered: Say goodbye to Energizer batteries (and all product placements) in the game

Who among us has played (and replayed) Alan Wake, will certainly remember that, among disturbing shadows and strange characters, in the game of Remedy Entertainment there were numerous product placement. Among them, every time we came across a pack of Energizer batteries it meant more light for our flashlight and, therefore, more chances for our survival.

Now, however, with the arrival of Alan Wake Remastered, the remastered version of the 2010 game announced a few hours ago, the encounter with the iconic double A batteries (as well as with any other branded element of the game) will be just a distant memory.

No product placement and Energizer batteries in Alan Wake Remastered

According to what reported by ScreenRant, Remedy’s PR confirmed that all product placement seen in the original Alan Wake has been removed and changed. No Energizer batteries or Verizon billboards so for Alan Wake Remastered; who will still be able to count on the songs and fictional TV shows broadcast here and there in Bright Falls (and which the same PR has always confirmed will remain untouched).

This is one of the few occasions in which product placements helped to create atmosphere and make the world around us in the game more credible, and I’m a bit sorry that even the Energizer batteries (which would drain immediately) will also be removed from this. remake.

Alan Wake Remastered will be released on October 5th on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and PC via the Epic Game Store.
