It has been known for several years now that Apple will soon present its first augmented reality and virtual reality headset. The American giant could well mention this new product during the presentation of iOS 16.
In his new “Power On” newsletter, journalist Mark Gurman once again talked about Apple’s upcoming mixed reality headset. According to his information, beta versions of iOS 16, codenamed Sydney, “are full of references to the headset and its interactions with the iPhone”. The latter is often called “Apple Glass“, although this name is not definitive.
Although it specifies that a complete presentation of the headset will be excluded soon, Apple could still start talking about its first virtual reality and augmented reality headset at its next conference, WWDC 2022 which will will be held from June 6 to 10, 2022. Indeed, the conference will be above all an opportunity for Apple to present new operating systems for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Mac. However, Apple is also expected to unveil a few products there like an iMac Pro, and give more details to developers about its mixed reality projects.

What do we know about Apple’s mixed reality headset?
According to information from Ming-Chi Kuo, we had learned that Apple could launch its mixed reality headset in very limited quantities as early as the end of this year. This first version would above all be reserved for developers who will be responsible for designing compatible applications so that the public can benefit from them in the following years.
Thus, Ming-Chi Kuo had also revealed that the first helmet version would certainly be overpriced. It is also expected that this new device from Apple will reuse elements of other products, including the 96W charger of the MacBook Pro 2021. This shows thatApple is considering bringing some power to its headphones. It would thus feed the two processors of the helmet: one engraved in 5 nm while the second would be engraved in 4 nm. Finally, we know that it will have a major advantage over its competitors: it would be much lighter and more comfortable.
