Apple TV + premieres today with its new Korean series

Today there are premieres on Apple TV +. And no, it is not Friday yet, which is usually the day chosen by the platform for this type of event. However, today the service is launched in South Korea and to celebrate it, the company will premiere the first episode of its first Korean production: Dr. Brain. We will tell you more details below.

Opening time and weekly broadcasts

This new series will already have its first chapter available tonight. Specifically, it will be at 23.00 Spanish peninsular time, in what will be November 4 in South Korea. Once this chapter is broadcast, the series will take the strategy of other Apple TV + content by releasing a weekly chapter. They will skip this Friday for obvious reasons having already premiered a chapter today, but its second chapter will be on Friday, November 12 and so on with a new one weekly until reaching its sixth chapter 10th of December.

This is a series that, by the way, is currently planned to have a single season. However, it cannot be ruled out that it could be renewed as has happened with others on the platform, something that in any case is not yet official as it has not been released. It should be noted that it is dubbed in a multitude of languages including Spanish, with the original Korean version also available with subtitles in as many languages.

Trailer and synopsis of this new series

After the success of the film Parasites (2019) and The Squid Game (2021), it seems that Korean productions are gaining more and more relevance on the international scene. Obviously it is early, very early, to know if Dr. Brain will be a new success story, but first of all it has interesting ingredients that make it very appetizing for fans of the Science fiction and with a good dose of drama.

Dr. Brain is based on a popular online comic called Hongjacga, treating with it the experiences of a sickly expert in neuroscience. He becomes excessively obsessed with this area thanks to new technologies and, after suffering a mysterious accident, this obsession rises and tries to investigate his wife’s memories to find out what happened.

Produced and directed by filmmaker Kim Jee-woon, this series features leading stars such as Lee Sun-kyun, who rose to international fame as Park Dong-ik in the Oscar-winning Parasites. A main roster that is completed with the participation of other well-known Korean actors such as Lee You-young, Seo Ji-hye, Park Hee-soon and Lee Jae-won.
