ASUS PB63, new mini PC with Intel Raptor Lake processors

The Taiwanese company has expanded its catalog of small-sized PCs with the ASUS PB63, a device that measures 175.26 mm x 175.26 mm x 43.18 mm, and that uses the new processors Intel Raptor Lake in its 35 and 65 watt versions.

Due to its small size, we cannot configure it with the 125-watt models, since these have a much higher consumption and generate a level of heat that cannot be optimally dissipated with such a small chassis. Nevertheless, we can mount a pretty powerful setup with the 65 watt chips.

The ASUS PB63 uses the B760 chipset, supports up to 64 GB of DDR5 memory at 4,800 MHz if we configure it with an Intel Core i5 processor and memory DDR5 at 5,600 MHz if we mount an Intel Core i7 or higher, it has two M.2 2280 slots for PCIe Gen4 SSDs of up to 2 TB each, and has space to mount a 2.5-inch storage drive.

Despite its small size, this equipment has a wide range of connectors which we will review below:

  • 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C.
  • 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A.
  • 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A.
  • 3xUSB2.0.
  • 2 x Display Port 1.4.
  • 1 x Gigabit Ethernet.
  • 1 x 3.5mm jack for microphone.
  • 1 x 3.5mm jack for audio input and output.

To keep the working temperatures of the Intel Raptor Lakes under control, this equipment mounts a active cooling system. With processors that have a TDP of up to 65 watts, it is not feasible to mount passive cooling systems, since they will not be able to maintain an optimum level.

We don’t have details about its release date or the sale price, but we imagine that ASUS will reveal it in the coming weeks. As for the pre-installed operating system, it will most likely come equipped with Windows 11.
