Belle: Mamoru Hosoda anime has been postponed

With a post on its social networks, Anime Factory has recently announced that it has postponed the release date of Belle (Ryū to Sobakasu no Hime – The princess of dragons and freckles), the new anime directed by Mamoru Hosoda (The girl who leapt through time, Wolf children, Mirai).

The anime film in the running for an Oscar nomination, whose debut was set for January 20, 2022, will arrive in Italian cinemas in the first real next year.

The new anti-Covid restrictions cause Belle’s release to be postponed

The cause of the postponement is to be found in the worsening of the situation linked to the pandemic and the increase in new Covid cases, as expressly communicated by Anime Factory which has not yet formalized a new release date:

Considering the intensification of the new Covid cases and the new restrictions, with great regret we inform you that the cinema release of Belle will be postponed to spring 2022! This difficult decision was made to allow everyone to peacefully enjoy in the hall the latest masterpiece by Hosoda, which recently hit the Japanese box office and is now in the running for an Oscar nomination! We trust that you will understand our choice and that, like us, you can’t wait to enjoy it properly on the big screen. Stay tuned to find out what the new release date will be!
