Cyberpunk 2077: CMON will make the board game

Some time ago we anticipated how CMON, the publishing house of Blood Rage And Rising Sun, was carrying on together with CD Project Red developing a card game inspired by Cyberpunk 2077, the much talked about videogame of the Polish house. But, during the CMoN Virtual Expo which took place last week, the new plans for this collaboration were unveiled.

Let’s see what the publishing house has unbuttoned, and what we will still have to wait to find out.

Cyberpunk 2077: CMON will make the board game

Apparently the idea that it should have been CyberPunk 2077: Afterlife – “simple” card game – will evolve into Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City, a more full-bodied and structured title capable of being a transposition to the table that reflects the spirit and setting of the videogame. We will play the members of the gangs we have so often enjoyed flatlinear as V.

We will see a new collaboration between Eric Lang And Andrea Chiarvesio after that of Marvel United: the duo goes back to working on an IP of a certain weight. Their intention, as stated during the virtual expo, is to create an area control board game full of the characters we met in the video game, but also to make the city environment of Night City alive and dynamic, giving the city a personality. which we only partially appreciated on the screens.

We bet 100 eurodollars that the game will follow the usual path, now common to almost all CMON titles, via Kickstarter. For now, the possible dates of the launch of the campaign, nor of publication, are not yet known; we just have to be patient while keeping our scanners well active.
