After months of rumors and rumors it has finally been announced, on the occasion of the event EA Play Live 2021, the arrival of Dead Space Remake! EA has officially revealed the return of Dead Space, with a remake of the classic sci-fi survival horror coming to next-gen consoles and PCs.
Dead Space Remake officially announced
As revealed during the live event, the Dead Space remake was completely rebuilt from the ground up and developed exclusively for PS5, Xbox Series X | S is PC. This will allow developers “To raise the level of horror and immersion to unprecedented levels”. Using the engine Frostbite, we can expect the Necromorphs to be even more terrifying this time around.
The USG Ishimura will be returning, along with an improved story, characters, game mechanics, and more to give us the living nightmare many were hoping for. And while no release date or window has been shared, fans at least know it’s a reality, thanks in part to the game’s teaser trailer shared during theEA Play Live 2021 and that you can admire directly below:
If you’ve never played Dead Space, the game’s story follows the story of Isaac Clarke, an ordinary engineer on a mission to repair a vast and sprawling starship, the USG Ishimura. But Isaac quickly discovers that something has gone terribly wrong. The ship’s crew was slaughtered and infected with an alien scourge… and Isaac’s beloved companion, Nicole, got lost somewhere aboard.
Now Isaac is alone with only his tools and engineering skills as he attempts to uncover the nightmarish mystery of what happened aboard the Ishimura. Trapped with hostile creatures called Necromorphs, Isaac faces a battle for survival, not only against the ship’s growing terrors, but also against his own ruined sanity.
The Dead Space remake will be available worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC… “when it is ready“.
