Despite the fact that MSI does not enjoy a great reputation among users who are fond of hardware, it must be recognized that it is one of the most experienced graphics card assemblers on the market. However, we were surprised to see that after the recent launch of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT/XTX, it was the only AMD assembler partner not to have released a model to the market. have broken relationships AMD Y M: YES? What is happening?
The thing seems to go even further, since it is not that MSI has not launched any model of the new AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series, but rather that they are not even listed on their website, nor have they sent any press release to the media… silence is absolute.
MSI and AMD, chronicle of a death foretold?
Just a few weeks ago, the news broke that the well-known assembler and manufacturer EVGA had broken relations with NVIDIA after a partnership that had lasted decades, a disruptive one that inevitably caused EVGA to leave the graphics card segment since I only worked with NVIDIA.
This is not the case of MSI, who, despite also being a long-standing partner of AMD in the field of GPUs, is also a long-standing partner of NVIDIA and does have the new NVIDIA RTX 40 Series graphics models listed and available. Of course, on its website we only find AMD models up to the Radeon RX 6000 Series, and there is no trace of the new graphics cards announced in October and that went on sale between yesterday and today.
It’s an open secret in the hardware industry that relations between MSI and AMD are strained to say the least. The reasons are of course unknown, but what is clear is that something happens when they have been the only assembler among those who are AMD partners who have not presented or announced anything about the new generation of graphics cards.
Stranger still is the fact that the official MSI Gaming account has responded to the official AMD Radeon account on Twitter assuring that the Radeon RX 7900 XT and XTX will be “available soon”.

This can mean several things, such as that there has been a supply problem and that MSI has not had time to manufacture their custom graphics cards yet, although honestly this would surprise us a lot because the assemblers receive the products with a long time in advance, otherwise so they can design and mass-manufacture their products and then ship them in time for launch. It is a story that, while plausible, seems unlikely to us.
There is also the possibility that, indeed, there is a “divorce” in the offing between MSI and AMD, that they have not reached an agreement for the distribution of this new generation and that everything has been delayed. What is clear is that if MSI is going to continue selling AMD products, this delay is going to hurt them a lot, since if users were waiting for the launch of the new generation of AMD to change their graphics card, they are not going to wait any longer. time for MSI to launch its custom models on the market, but they will opt for those of the rest of the assemblers.
At this point, with the graphics already released, the reviews published and the products on store shelves, we don’t expect MSI to make an official statement on the matter, unless fears are confirmed and a breach of contract does indeed occur. assembler-manufacturer relationships in the same way that EVGA did with NVIDIA at the time. Time will tell how this soap opera ends.
