Do you want your company to have a positive impact?

When in the Third Sector Platform we started thinking about the message we wanted to convey in the campaign “Solidarity Company Box” of this post-pandemic year in which the inequalities of the system have become even more acute, we realized that it had to meet several premises that would allow us to communicate the great impact of a gesture as simple as deciding to check a box on the Corporation tax.

The first is that it had to be a message that spoke the language of companies, that was embedded in the corporate universe and presented, in a few words, the opportunity to go one step further in its social commitment. Checking this box contributes directly not only to tackle the great social challengesbut also to lay the foundations for a new, fairer, more egalitarian and sustainable model.

The challenge was, then, to invite the audience to be part of a new common space in which companies are beginning to believe that things can be changed, that are betting on a new relationship model between companies and the Third Party. Sector understanding that to tackle social challenges joint action is required.

The second premise was to do it in a clear, according to the pragmatic, efficient and effective nature of the required action – check the Solidarity Company Box in the Corporation Tax – transmitting the power of this simple, free and zero-cost gesture for companies, but with all the impact on society , in the environment and in the future. With the proceeds, social projects developed by Third Sector entities are financed to guarantee the rights of citizens, to fight against poverty, social exclusion and inequality and also other transformative projects more oriented to making our own entities more effective.

But not only that, but the benefit for the companies themselves also had to be clear. Define this decision as the act of coherence that it is. In a context in which no longer considers being committed to societybut rather addresses how to be so, the companies that choose to mark it legitimize themselves socially by responding to citizen demand for the private sector to get involved in common problems.

We arrive at conclusion, finally, of the fourth premise that our message had to fulfill, highlighting the potential of the initiative, whatever the size of your company: checking the Solidarity Company Box allows you to allocate 0.7% of the full amount of the tax to projects of social interest managed by the Third Sector. And what is more important, it lays the foundations for a new system in which all of us can live better. And you, do you want to have an impact?
