Free Guy: Ryan Reynolds reveals that Disney already wants a sequel

Free Guy: Hero for Game has been in cinemas for a couple of days and its protagonist, Ryan Reynolds, is actively following the progress of the film at the box office. Fortunately for the actor, as well as for Disney, the film seems to be preforming really well, to the point that the Mickey Mouse studio would already be interested in a sequel to Free Guy.

Ryan Reynolds himself revealed it through his social channels:

Eeeeee after three years of proposing Free Guy as the original film, Disney confirmed today that they officially want a sequel. Woo hoo! #Irony

If it is not called “Albuquerque Boiled Turkey” we will have failed.

Disney was aiming for more than 20 million in the first three days of screening, but got between 25 and 30 million. A more than valid reason for wishing, so in advance of normal times, the arrival of a sequel to Free Guy.

Based on a screenplay by Matt Lieberman, Free Guy stars Guy (Ryan Reynolds), a bank teller who realizes he is an NPC of a very violent open world video game, called Free City. Eager to change his lifestyle, Guy teams up with the avatar of a real player to change his destiny, that of the game and that of the world.

Free Guy tells the story of a lonely bank clerk who discovers he is the secondary character of the video game Free City.

Directed by Shawn Levy, the film will star, in addition to Ryan Reynolds, also Jodie Comer (a programmer of the game who has had the intellectual property of the same stolen), Joe Keery (a programmer who works in the shadows), Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi!
