Intel NUC 11 Essential, budget line with Jasper Lake

The chip giant has presented the Intel NUC 11 Essential, Intel NUC 11 Essential, a compact device that maintains all the values โ€‹โ€‹of the NUC series and is committed to offering a solid value in price-performance ratio. Taking a look at the chassis, we see that Intel has used a simple and minimalist design, and that this equipment has a very small size, since it measures 135 x 115 x 36mm,

On the side we see a ventilated area that allows the entry of cold air from the outside, and on the back we see another space reserved for the hot air outlet. Regarding the connectors, the Intel NUC 11 Essential has:

  • Four USB 3.2 Type-A connectors.
  • Two USB 2.0.
  • One HDMI 2.0b output.
  • One DisplayPort 1.4 output.
  • One Gigabit Ethernet port.
  • One 3.5mm jack for audio output.
  • One 3.5mm microphone jack.

At the hardware level, the Intel NUC 11 Essential can be configured with processors Intel Celeron N4505, Celeron N5105, or Pentium Silver N6005. These chips are manufactured in the process of 10nm, and although they are low-power models, they offer quite good performance, thanks to the improvements that Intel introduced at the microarchitecture level. The Celeron N4505 has 2 cores and 2 threads, while the other two chips have 4 cores and 4 threads.

The rest of the specifications of the Intel NUC 11 Essential are completed with up to 32GB of 2933MHz DDR4 memory, M.2 slot for SSD drive and optional support of 64 GB of storage capacity in eMMC format. It has Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 integrated, which means that it has all the wireless connectivity options that we may need.

It seems that some models are configured, in their base version, with 64 GB of storage in eMMC format, and that they use Windows 11 in S mode. However, the Intel NUC 11 Essential is compatible with Windows 10, Windows 11 and Linux.
