In recent years, LEGO has been feeding our geek nostalgia with a variety of vehicles from cult 80s movies. From the LEGO Batmobile from Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman movie (and related Batwing) to the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, it was only time before the Danish company decided to release a set Creator Expert of the time machine DeLorean taken from the franchise of Back to the Future.
DeLorean’s latest attempt at Back to the Future LEGO was the little 21103 set released way back in 2013, now for sale in the secondary market at insane prices. But following what appears to be the pattern used with the LEGO Ideas 21108 Ghostbusters Ecto-1 set, released in 2014 and followed by the LEGO Creator Expert 10274 Ghostbusters Ecto-1 set in November last year, a new set dedicated to the iconic sci-fi vehicle now appears to be ready for debut in 2022.
Is the new LEGO Creator Expert set from Back to the Future DeLorean coming in April?
Ok, I know the set in question, the number 10300, should have arrived on the shelves already last November, but this has not happened and, now, the new release date seems to have been set for the month of April 2022. More precisely, the lego set 10300 Back to the Future DeLorean should debut on the official online store by LEGO theApril 1, 2022, at the retail price of € 169.99.
Inside we should also find the conversion kit to be able to modify the DeLorean between Back to the Future versions 1 and 2; which will then allow us to air-transform our time machine (complete with tilting wheels), add the iconic OUTATIME plaque with the bar code and a Mr. Fusion ready to dispose of our waste.
Also within the set, it seems we will also find a hoverboard and a tool case but, as happened with the Ecto-1 Creator Expert, there is no trace of minifigures.
Our hope is that the date of April 1 doesn’t turn out to be an early LEGO fish.
