Microsoft now sells $60 Windows XP T-shirts

If you’re a Windows XP nostalgic fan, this new clothing collection is for you. Called “Hardwear”, it uses the graphic codes of the famous operating system, in particular its now iconic wallpaper or the design of MS Paint. Despite its very casual style, count all the same 60 euros to get a copy.

More than 20 years after its release, Windows XP still enjoys phenomenal popularity. If its ancestor Windows 95 allowed the breakthrough of the operating system with the general public, it is the latter that installed Microsoft as the hardware giant that we know today. So much so, in fact, that some still don’t want to let go of him. Even today, millions still use Windows XP daily at the expense of Windows 11.

In other words, and while the 2000s are currently experiencing a real renaissance in the fashion world, the Redmond firm has sniffed out the opportunity. This is how the manufacturer now finds itself selling 60-euro T-shirts featuring the design of its famous operating system. For this modest sum, you can therefore become the proud owner of a garment proudly displaying the Windows XP wallpaper.

Microsoft launches Hardwear, a clothing collection inspired by Windows XP

Baptized “Hardwear”, this collection is placed in the direct line of clothing lines inspired by the Xbox universe, but also by Windows 95 or even Minesweeper (it can’t be invented). In total, it has nine pieces including T-shirts, hats, sweaters and pants created in collaboration with Gavin Mathieu, creator of the Supervsn brand.

“The collection reflects the Normcore style, a lifestyle aesthetic that focuses on individuals, not the clothes they wear”explains Amanda O’Neal, director of multicultural and social communications at Microsoft. “Every piece is intentional, and there’s a meaning behind every Hardwear item.” If this presentation has convinced you, the entire collection is available directly on the Microsoft site.
