While the Molotov application is now accessible from a web browser, the French Internet TV channel distribution service has just made an important announcement this Monday, May 16, 2022. Indeed, Molotov is launching 7 new FAST channels around different themes, such as cinema, series, youth content, documentaries or history. Here is the full list:
- Mango Series
- Mango Cinema
- Mango Kids
- Mango Docs
- Mango History
- Mango Novelas
But first, what is a FAST TV channel? This is the acronym for Free Ad Supported Television or in the language of Molière, free and ad-supported streaming linear TV channels. As Molotov explains in his press release, the goal is to offer with these new channels from his AvoD Mango offer an experience as close as possible to that of traditional TV (programs interspersed with advertisements). Molotov wants to mainly target users who are tired of having to choose content and who prefer to watch an offer made by the channel.

Molotov wants to get closer to traditional TV
“With the rise of connected TV, FAST Channels represent the future of free-to-air television and give viewers and advertisers an ideal combination of the audience’s linear consumption habits and the virtues of digital advertising.” details the hexagonal company.
To offer these new channels, Molotov explains that he developed proprietary content linearization technology on demand, so as to offer better integration of user data. Note that the launch of these seven FAST channels is not trivial. Indeed, Molotov responds to its main competitor Pluto TV, which has already launched several thematic TV channels financed by advertising.
The company also specifies that this is only the beginning, since the development of the AVoD offer and FAST channels is one of Molotov’s priorities for the year 2022. In other words, more channels and content should be announced in the coming weeks and months.
