Motorola Moto G 5G, on the hunt for the mid-range

Motorola has expanded its family of mid-range mobiles with the Moto G 5G, a new version for 2023 of one of the best-selling terminals in its price range in the last decade. As a great accompaniment, Motorola has also announced the launch of the similar and even cheaper G Stylus.

Under a well-known design, typical of the brand, the new Moto G maintains the LCD screen of 6.5 inches and HD+ resolution (1600 x 720 pixels) from the previous model. Its refresh rate does increase up to an interesting 120 Hz.

Its engine is a SoC snapdragon 480+ from Qualcomm, as well-known as it is competent, with its eight Kryo 460 cores running at a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz and the Adreno 619 graphics. It supports the 5G radios necessary to take full advantage of the latest networks and is compatible with dual Wi-Fi antennas 6 2×2. It will be sold in configurations with 4 Gbytes of RAM and storage options of 64 GB or 128 GB, expandable with microSD cards of up to 1 Tbyte.

It mounts a dual-sensor camera system with a 48 MP main camera and Quad Pixel function, along with a 2 MP macro. It has a 5,000 mAh battery with fast charging through a USB Type-C port. It has an audio system with Dolby Atmos stereo speakers.

The new Motorola Moto G 5G will be available this month in various color finishes for 249 dollars. As for the operating system, it uses Android 13 and as usual it stands out for offering one of the cleanest user interfaces on the Google system.

Moto G Stylus 2023

The second of the terminals announced by Motorola has the stylus that gives its name to a model with a 6.5-inch screen, HD resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. It uses a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset (4G only), with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage (expandable to 1 TB via microSD card). The cameras are the same as the Moto G 5G and its price drops to $199.

EdgePlus 2023

Motorola has also announced another terminal for the high range. This is the Edge 40 Pro marketed in Europe, renamed for its launch in America. It uses a screen with OLED technology, 6.67 inches diagonal and FHD+ native resolution, with support for Dolby Vision HDR and a 165 Hz refresh rate. Its engine is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is Qualcomm’s most powerful for the first part of 2023. It is accompanied by 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Its price will be $799.
