News VOD 02/23: ‘The Last of Us’, the post-apocalyptic terror of the best video game comes to the small screen

VOD news brings you the best new releases of the week on Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+… And, yes, the news is weak, but not only for that reason we make an exception with The Last of Us, that also. Read on because this week’s review is going to be short and painless.

We begin, then, with HBO Max, where one of the most anticipated series of the year premieres: The Last of Us. And you will find little else of interest on the platform, to be honest.

The Last of Us It is, as we have already advanced on more than one occasion, one of the most anticipated adaptations like this, in general. Neither more nor less than the adaptation of the original Naughty Dog game for PlayStation, one of the best valued in the history of the medium. what’s it about? Of survival in a post-apocalyptic world that has been devastated by a pathogen that only leaves death and destruction in its wake. And monstrous zombies.

Of course, just because the game has been wonderful, it doesn’t mean that the adaptation of The Last of US it will be too. But there is hope that it will come close: it is an original HBO production, at the helm are Neil Druckmann, vice president of the Naughty Dog studio and writer and creative director of the franchise; and Craig Mazin, Head of Chernobyl. Both as co-creators of the series. The cast includes Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.

When the trailer was announced, I ventured to give my opinion and it was not very flattering: I see the level of production as very fair, the cast squeaks me… But as I said then, only once you have seen something, you can judge in good conscience. And the good news is that those who have already been able to see it anticipate a whole event, so we will have to wait… a couple of days, on HBO Max it will premiere The Last of Us Sunday in the United States and Spain will arrive later.

Specific, The Last of Us It can be seen in Spain well after midnight, although it seems that it will already be well dubbed -with the dubbing actors of the game- for those who prefer to see it that way. That is why adding and highlighting in this edition of VOD news a The Last of Us is an exception, since we’re actually talking about a release next week. But it leaves on Monday and wait until the following Saturday…
