Price of the Galaxy S23: there will be no increase compared to the Galaxy S22, at least in the United States

The numerous leaks that have been taking place have revealed almost all the keys to the Galaxy S23 family. We already know its design, and we are also clear about its hardware specifications, and we even have the official presentation date, which is scheduled for February 1. However, we were missing an important piece of information that had been left in the air until now, the price of the Galaxy S23.

Thanks to the leak of a documentation from the operator Verizon we have been able to know the price of the Galaxy S23, and we have good news, Samsung is not going to raise the price of this new family of smartphones, which means that it will keep it at the level of the current generation, at least in the United States.

These are the Official prices that the new generation of Samsung will have according to Verizon:

  • The Galaxy S23 will cost $799.99 in its base configuration with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
  • The Galaxy S23+ will cost $999.99 in its base version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage capacity.
  • The Galaxy S23 Ultra will be priced at 1,199.99 euros, also in its base configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage capacity.

Galaxy S23

It seems that we were correct with our prediction that Samsung was not going to raise the prices of the Galaxy S23. However, we must bear in mind that these figures only apply to the US market, and that how much they will cost in Spain has not yet been confirmed. Making a direct conversion to euros, and applying 21% VATThose prices would look like this:

  • Galaxy S23: 892.76 euros.
  • Galaxy S23+: 1,115.95 euros.
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra: 1,339.15 euros.

The Galaxy S22 arrived in Spain with a price of 849 eurosthe Galaxy S22+ cost €1,059 and the Galaxy S22 Ultra had an introductory price of €1,259. With this in mind, and seeing the results that we have obtained from this direct currency conversion and the application of VAT, I would not dare to assure yet that Samsung is not going to raise the price of the Galaxy S23 in Spain. There is less left to find out.

This Verizon documentation leak has also confirmed important things about the specifications of the Galaxy S23, such as the amounts of RAM and storage capacity, which we have already seen, the configuration of cameras that each model will have, the SoC and the screen size. This is how each model would be configured:

  • Galaxy S23: 6.1-inch FHD+ screen, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 50 MP rear camera, 12 MP wide angle and 10 MP telephoto lens. 3,900 mAh battery.
  • Galaxy S23+: 6.6-inch FHD+ screen, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 50 MP rear camera, 12 MP wide angle and 10 MP telephoto lens. 4,700 mAh battery.
