Signaturit will manage the electronic signature of the Council of Europe

Signaturit has been the company chosen by the Council of Europe to develop the electronic signature integration project in their own digital management tools.

Compliance with the legal requirements of the elDAS regulation and the ability to offer and facilitate all signature modalities: simple, advanced and qualified, have been the determining factors in the choice of Signaturit, over other providers, by the Council of Europe. In addition, legaltech is a customer centric company, which means that it has designed a customized solution that meets the needs of the European body.

The use of the electronic signature continues to grow, not only in private companies, but also in public bodies. The Council of Europe contracted the services of Signaturit a year ago to digitize the document signing through the web platform.

But this time the international organization wanted to go a step further and undertake a new project to integrate the electronic signature via API with the aim of reach 100 thousand signatures by the end of the year. The implementation of the tool has begun with 200 users, and the forecast is to close the year with 700.

“That the Council of Europe has relied on Signaturit’s electronic signature to undertake new challenges is, without a doubt, a privilege for us that places us even more as leaders in electronic signatures in Europe. Our technological solution not only gives you the necessary legal guarantees, but also speeds up and increases the efficiency of the signing process. Without forgetting the improvement of the experience of the signatories”, according to Sergio Ruiz, president of the Signaturit Group.

Innovation and protection of the environment

The objective pursued by the Council of Europe is to become a more efficient body that reconciles innovation, regulation and protection of the environment. In order to achieve this purpose, the organization has started a digital transformation project for its document signing and archiving processes with Signaturit. The organizations and departments that already have the electronic signature or are about to implement it are the European Directory for the Quality of Medicines and Health Services; the European Convention on Human Rights, and Eurimages, which is the Council of Europe’s cultural support fund.

To achieve digitization, the Council of Europe has set itself different technological challenges. Among them improve the signatory processes and have the traceability of each signature. Furthermore, since not all signers are digital natives, they needed an intuitive digital solution, so that the transition from traditional to digital is as natural and simple as possible.

“Digital technologies are changing people’s lives, from the way we communicate to the way we live and work. For this reason, from the European Council we want to undertake this process of digital transformation of the signature processes with Signaturit’s customized solution, and, in this way, streamline management for the benefit of all Europeans”explains Alain Miele, head of technological innovation at the Council of Europe.
