Being part of the global Summer Game Fest, Sony wanted to get ahead of the rest of the companies with the celebration of this State of Play broadcast live last nightwhich although it was limited to a very tight 30 minutes and a fairly small selection of titles, has certainly not gone unnoticed at all.

That said, we continue to find other great standouts like capcomwhich not only met expectations by introducing us a new preview of Street Fighter VIbut surprised us with the announcement of the remake of Resident Evil 4 for PS5, toyes as the complete adaptation of Resident Evil Village VRwhich will arrive with compatibility for the current and upcoming virtual reality system.

Thus, although this State of Play aimed to be relegated exclusively to some of the titles of its third parties, in addition to these titles, the event has surprised us with a new preview of Horizon: Call of the Mountain, the spin-off of this adventure saga that will be presented as another of the first games adapted to the next PlayStation VR2; as well as a little surprise from Insomniac and our friend and neighbor Spider-Man.

Without a doubt, the great announcement of this State of Play was held by the next installment of the main saga of this legendary RPG. From the hand of Naoki Yoshida (or Yoshi-P) himself, the Japanese company offered us a more extended trailer with some details about the main story, the carriers and the Eikons; as well as some fleeting scenes of its combat system, which will feature a new interface and some changes to the latest real-time action system that the company has been polishing since the previous installment, in addition to what appear to be completely new fights in which we will face these titanic creatures.

Although without a doubt the most important detail has been the announcement of a first release date, which will take us until next summer, in 2023.

Street Fighter VI

Another of the great advances of this State of Play was the new preview trailer for the next installment of another mythical saga, in this case going back to the old arcade machines. And it is that the Capcom fighting game has not only offered us some images of the gameplay of Street Fighter 6, but has also made use of it to show us some of the characters that will be available in it, as well as the presentation of new modes such as the new HUD for the multiplayer game, with a common area where players can chat with other users before fighting.

Breaking a little with the most common genres, this game offers us a much more relaxed experience in which we will have to explore and record our environment, meet new people, and unravel the strange world that surrounds us.
