The Galaxy S23 is still in the spotlight this Thursday, November 3, 2022. According to the reputable leaker Ice Universe, the next Samsung smartphones should have a special mode to boost autonomy by moderately reducing performance. Importantly, this function would spare the refresh rate.

We learned in particular that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be equipped with the same photo assembly as that of the S22 Ultra, if we exclude from the equation the main sensor of 200MP. The Galaxy S23 will have a somewhat special Energy Saving mode
But let’s get to the latest revelation of the day without further ado. We owe it to the well-known insider IceUniverse, whose reputation is second to none. According to the leaker, the Galaxy S23 will offer a somewhat special energy saving mode. This “Light” mode, visibly available in the options dedicated to the device’s performance, will allow you to moderately reduce the performance of the smartphone in order to boost its autonomy. Importantly, this profile will not impact the refresh rate.
In other words, you can stay in 60 or 120 Hz while benefiting from a few hours of additional autonomy thanks to this option. As can be seen in the screenshot shared by IceUniverse, this setting does not apply to games. You will need to go to the Game Booster settings to modify the performance of the S23 during your gaming sessions.
As a reminder, IceUnivers recently revealed that the Galaxy S23 and S23+ will not offer fast charging above 45W. In other words, it will not be this year again that the manufacturer will catch up with competition like Oppo and OnePlus, which already offer devices compatible with 80W fast charging.
