Google has decided to draw a line under the Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a, after two years of good and loyal service. For several months, the two devices were unavailable on the American store of the manufacturer. Prior to the launch of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Google had decided to suspend sales of the two devices launched in 2020, to give free rein to its new flagships.
Regarding France, thePixel 5 and 4a were still accessible from the manufacturer’s official store. Well, until now. Indeed, both devices are listed as “unavailable” on the hex store. Fact, the choice has become rather limited.
If you are looking to acquire a Google Pixel from the official website of the Mountain View company, only two models will be available to you, namely the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro. There is therefore no longer any entry-level alternative offered below the €650 mark, the current price of the Pixel 6.

Too bad for French consumers, especially since the Pixel 5a 5G never reached the French market. Sold around 400 €, the smartphone nevertheless had arguments able to please a clientele in looking for an affordable 5G compatible camera phone. The only solution is therefore to import from the United States or Japan.

According to the first rumors shared by reputable leaker OnLeaks, the Pixel 6a would be powered by the same SoC Tensor as the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. Which would make it one of the most powerful mid-range smartphones on the market. Regarding the design, it would be very similar to that of the Pixel 6, with the difference that the Pixel 6a would carry a 6.2″ panel against 6.4″ for its elder. If Google has not yet confirmed the date, many leakers agree that Google will present the Pixel 6a on May 26, 2022 alongside the Pixel Watch, its new connected watch.
