The images of the Vivo X Fold confirm that it will follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy Fold3

Images of the Vivo X Fold, the first folding of the Chinese brand, have come to light ahead of an official launch expected this week.

Samsung largely dominates the foldable mobile segment and it is natural that the rest of the manufacturers follow suit. The images we are talking about confirm the book type design which has become the majority and an aspect ratio and size very similar to that offered by the current Galaxy Fold3, the best-selling in the folding market.

The main screen has a size of 8 inches when unfolded, with a 120Hz refresh rate and a panel that will be the first to feature LTPO 3.0 technology. The outer screen will offer a diagonal of 6.53 inches, with native FHD + resolution that also supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

We do see some changes in front of the Galaxy Fold3 in the hinge, in the front camera or in the rear. If Samsung places it below the screen, Vivo uses the more traditional “hole” on the right side of the internal screen. The main screen is also different, with a large rectangular quad-sensor module, a 50MP main, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 12MP “portrait” camera and a 5MP periscope zoom camera.

The terminal will use Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC as the main engine, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and will be accompanied by up to 12 Gbytes of LPDDR5 and 512 Gbytes of UFS 5.1 for storage. A great performance is expected according to the score obtained during its passage through Geeekbench.

There is no good news for those of us who hope that these large folding cars will lower their sale price and allow them to end up reaching the general public. Rumored 11,999 RMB, at the exchange about $1,900 which is Samsung’s Galaxy Fold3 price line. Vivo is expected to introduce it this week alongside the X Note phablet and Vivo Pad tablet.
