The Intel Core i9-13900KS, a processor that reaches 6GHz from the factory, is now available

The Intel Core i9-13900KS It is the latest top-of-the-range model announced by the chip giant, which comes to occupy, according to its version, the first place among processors aimed at desktop computing, especially since it is the first in its category to reach the frequency 6GHz in turbo mode and out of the box.

With this launch, Intel delivers on what was expected of it a few months ago, when the company announced in September 2022 that the Raptor Lake (thirteenth) generation of its Intel Core processors would be capable of reaching 6GHz out of the box. At the time it was already known that the Intel Core i9-13900K would “only” reach 5.8GHz, so all eyes began to focus on the Intel Core i9-13900KS, which has complied with the offer 6GHz without the need to apply overclock.

Apart from being able to reach the impressive working speed of 6GHz in turbo mode, the Intel Core i9-13900KS is made up of a total of 24 cores distributed in 8 high-performance (P-Core) and another 16 efficient (E-Core) to make a total of 32 threads available, since high-performance kernels support Hyper-Threading.

It contains a total of 36MB of cache memory and according to its official file it officially supports DDR5 RAM up to 5,600MHz and DDR4 up to 3,200MHz. As integrated graphics there is a UHD Intel 770, which is a last generation Xe, although the logical thing would be to complement the processor with a good dedicated graphics (here we are already entering the field of circumstances and reasons for each one).

Thanks to the reuse of the LGA 1700 socket used by the Alder Lake (12th) generation, the Intel Core i9-13900KS is Officially compatible with Z790 (targeted at Raptor Lake) and Z690 (targeted at Alder Lake) platformsbut in case of using the second one, it is very likely that a BIOS update will be necessary for full compatibility.

The Intel Core i9-13900KS will be marketed as of today with a reference price for the United States of $699, an amount that will rise in the Eurzone for tax reasons and other issues. Intel intends with this processor to offer the best solution for gamers, professionals and enthusiasts.
