The price of memory modules for PC can register a noticeable drop in coming weeks. This is stated by the consulting firm TrendForce, which has seen South Korean manufacturers of DRAM memory lower prices to revive customer demand in a situation of excess supply. These low prices mean, according to them, that memory module prices will in turn be considerably lower from now on.
This leads to the fact that although TrendForce had estimated until now a drop in the price of RAM memory modules of between 8% and 13% in the third quarter of this year 2022, this drop is going to be much bigger now. At least it will be 13%, and it may reach 18%which would be almost a decrease of a fifth of its value.
This is a more than notable drop, and the best thing for consumers is that this trend will apparently continue in the last quarter of the year. Then the memory is expected to drop between 3% and 8% more. It is also a percentage higher than previous forecasts for the last three months of the year, when DRAM prices were expected to decline by at most 5%, with prices holding at best for the industry.
At TrendForce they also do not rule out that more falls will continue to occur in 2023. Therefore, those who think about buying a little more RAM for their computers may have better prices if they decide to wait a bit. That yes, although apparently these price drops are more than likely for DDR4 memoryeverything points to the DDR5 RAM modulesbuilt to the latest RAM memory standard, they will not suffer such a sharp drop in prices. That is, its price will drop, although much less.
However, as DDR5 memory matures, it will come down in price while improving performance. That is why it is advisable to wait a bit to buy it. It has already dropped significantly in recent weeks, and there is nothing to suggest that these declines will not continue to occur.
