The synergy between StartupCities and Nectios seeks to digitize global entrepreneurial ecosystems

The creation of startups can benefit from the removal of existing borders among all global entrepreneurial ecosystems. This is one of the main objectives of an alliance recently signed by the Spanish startup Nectios and the international consortium Global StartupCities, which brings together cities that encourage entrepreneurship and they are not capitals.

This project will make it easier for entrepreneurial ecosystems in cities and regions around the world to promote the development of its business network and connect with other sources of entrepreneurship, beyond the most well-known and traditional ones.

Fostering networking and opening the debate on innovation by incorporating new actors will be one of the pillars of this project to create virtual communities, which will bring together the promoters of ecosystems, startups, companies, investors and political agents in a digital environment. As the founder of Nectios explains, “We want all these virtual communities to be able to connect with each other, creating a huge global community of startups and entrepreneurship”.

The Global StartupCities initiative is responsible for accelerating and interconnecting new ecosystems of entrepreneurship and innovation, with a special focus on cities outside the large hubs. It has the support of the European Commission, with the European Commissioner Mariya Gabriel as Honorary Ambassador.
