Xiaomi has officially confirmed that its Xiaomi 13 Ultra will launch as early as this month in China, but we don’t have an exact release date yet. This was without counting an indiscretion on the part of a locally well-known third-party retailer, JD Store, which already announces on its website that the smartphone is expected from April 18.

According to the merchant, we can therefore expect an event on Tuesday next week, at 7 p.m. in China, or 1 p.m. in France. According to the various leaks, it may well be that the launch in Europe is not exactly on the same date, and that we will have to wait until next month before seeing the smartphone arrive here.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra promises to be the best in photos

If the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is so expected, it’s because the Chinese manufacturer is used toequip its “Ultra” smartphones with the best technologies on the marketespecially in the photo part.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will notably be equipped with a 50 MP IMX989 sensor, but the latter will have the particularity of offering a variable focal length, unlike those of the Xiaomi 13 Pro, Vivo X90 Pro or Oppo Find X6 Pro. Xiaomi also promises to have used the best Leica lenses, which should help get brighter shots than previous models.

The manufacturer has not only improved the main sensor, but also the secondary sensors. There will be a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle IMX858 sensor, a 50 MP IMX858 3X telephoto sensor and a 50 MP IMX858 5X periscope sensor. The latter two would benefit from much more precise algorithms, which would offer excellent portraits and much better shots with more detail when you push the zoom to the maximum.

Other parts of the device have also benefited from improvements, including the USB-C connector, which will switch to the 3.2 standard. This will allow the smartphone to take advantage of a video output to plug in an external display, but this change has forced Xiaomi to limit fast charging to just 90W, compared to 120W on the Pro model.
