Toshiba Electronics Europe appoints Peter Lieberwirth as new president and CEO

Toshiba Electronics Europe has appointed Peter Lieberwirth new president and CEO, a position that is effective from July 1. In his new role, Lieberwirth will lead the development and execution of Toshiba’s strategy for its electronic components business.

The new president and CEO of Toshiba Electronics Europe takes over from outgoing president Tomoaki Kumagai, who has been promoted to a new global role as corporate vice president and general manager of Global Business and Strategy Development in Japan.

Peter Lieberwirth joined Toshiba in 1992, where he has served as Vice President of the Marketing & Operations division since 2018 and where his extensive experience in the sales and marketing functions has proven invaluable.

Coinciding with this appointment, Armin Derpmanns will assume the role of Vice President of Marketing and Operations at Toshiba Electronics Europe, after having been General Manager of Semiconductor Marketing for the past five years, in which role he oversaw the business development of new markets, products and solutions. Since his joining Toshiba in 1989, Derpmanns has also held other senior positions.
