In terms of active noise reduction, Sony is easily measured against its main competitor: Apple, with its AirPods Pro. Sony’s reputation in this segment is well established, and the brand continues to move upmarket, whether for its wireless headphones or solid headsets. Precisely, as regards its headphones, its more recent model, the WF-1000XM4, wins all the votes, but this does not mean that its previous version, the XM3, is less interesting. Quite the contrary!
If you want to test it for yourself, know that on the occasion of sales, the price of Sony WF-1000XM3 headphones drops from 199.99 euros to 169.99 euros on Boulanger, Amazon and Darty.

- What is the active noise reduction of these Sony WF-1000XM3 worth?
As said before, Sony is at the top of the podium when it comes to active noise reduction. For its WF-1000XM3, the brand has taken the technology of its very good WH-1000XM3 headphones to adapt it to its wireless headphones. And the result is there. Whether you are on the street, on public transport or in the office among your noisy colleagues, this model will allow you to isolate yourself well from all distractions. If you prefer, at some point, to listen to ambient noises (which is useful on a pedestrian crossing, for example), the “Quick Attention” mode will be made for that and will be activated by simply touching the dedicated touch zone.
- What about their audio quality?
This is no surprise for Sony: the sound produced by the WF-1000XM3 will be well balanced and will suit everyone. If necessary, you can optionally configure the equalizer available on the Sony Headphones Connect application (on iOS and Android) to be able to tweak the sound to your liking.
These Sony WF-1000XM3 embed Google Assistant natively, which will allow you to obtain information, launch a title or even call a person thanks to the voice command. The assistant will obey you with the finger and the voice, the earpieces well wedged.
Finally, autonomy: the brand announces a use of 6 hours with noise reduction activated, and 8 hours without. If you add the charging case (which recharges in USB-C), the whole can climb to 32 hours of autonomy. So you can easily last a week without running out of battery. However, no wireless charging possible here, unlike the successors, the WF-1000XM4.
