One of the most useful functions of Google is precisely one of the least used and that, on certain occasions, can be much more helpful when it comes to resolving any doubts that we have visually. We are talking about Google Images.
It is also an interesting option when searching for any type of image or photograph. However, depending on the final use that we are going to give to the image, we cannot use any image available through the Google images platform, so in theory this feature is greatly reduced.
Fortunately, Google is aware that, for the user, it is necessary to know how to differentiate between copyright-free images and those that are under a paid umbrella, where it is necessary to pay or request permission to be able to use them and, when To search for images corresponding to a certain topic, we can access the search options to filter the results and only show the images with Creative Commons Licenselicense that allows you to use the content without having to pay, request permission or indicate who is the author of the image.
To take advantage of this functionality of Google Images, the first thing we must do is open the search engine and enter the term we are looking for. We can also do it directly from the Google Images section. Next, we click on the button Further located below the search bar.
Next, we click on right of use and select the option Creative Commons License.
Once we have selected the Creative Commons Licenses option, all the images indexed by Google that match this type of license will be displayed. We can use all these images without any kind of restriction.
Other options
If we have the usual need to use royalty-free images, this image filtering function is an excellent option as well as being fast. However, if we are looking for images of a certain theme, it is not always the best option. The best option in this case is to use one of the different platforms available on the internet and that allow us to freely use all the available images without having to pay, such as the ones we show you below:
- Unplash. Through this website we can access thousands of copyright-free photographs of all kinds of themes. To find the image that best suits what we are looking for, we just have to use the upper search box by entering the terms we are looking for. Along with the free results, it also shows images that are behind a paywall from this platform.
- Pixabay. Another interesting platform where we can find all kinds of images through the search box. Although it is not necessary to register on the platform to be able to download the content, if we do, we will have the possibility of downloading the image in a higher resolution, something that can be very useful on certain occasions, especially when we want to create a poster or image of big size.
- rawpixel. If in none of the two previous platforms, we find the image we are looking for, we can use RawPixel, another interesting website where we can find thousands of royalty-free photographs of all kinds of themes. In addition, we can also search for transparency files (.png), wallpapers and illustrations.
- PNGWing. PNGWing is one of the best platforms currently available on the market to search for icons, symbols and images with transparent backgrounds to use in combination with other images. It is not necessary to register on the web to download all the available content.
