Beelink EQ12 Pro is the name of the mini-PC presented by the Chinese firm of the same name. Its main features are standard in this class of compacts: minimal size, good connectivity and sufficient performance for general computing tasks, which in this case comes from Intel’s Alder Lake-N series processors.
Beelink will market this series in two versions, standard and the Pro in question. Both will use Intel’s new entry-level processors, but if the regular model mounts an Intel N100, the Pro installs a Core i3-N305 with better features, with 8 cores/threads with a maximum frequency of 3.8 GHz. 6 Mbytes of third-level cache. Intel UHD GPU with 32 execution units and a maximum frequency of 1.25 GHz. Its TDP is 15 watts and on paper it is an ideal model for mini-PCs.
The main configuration is completed with two slots for DDR5-4800 memory (up to 16 GB) and double drive for storage, an M.2 2280 to mount PCIe SSD and a 2.5″ SATA. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless standards.
The chassis has quite contained dimensions of 124 x 113 x 39mm and it offers a good number of ports, 2.5GbE Ethernet, two HDMI ports, 1 USB Type-C port and three USB Type-A ports, plus a 3.5mm combo audio jack and power jack. It will be available in four colors, white, light grey, dark gray and dark blue, and in a textured finish to resist fingerprints.
The increase in performance demands more cooling and this Beelink EQ12 Pro covers it with two fans, one for the CPU itself and one for the chassis. Presented in China, there is no information about the price and the launch date in the international market. We will keep track of it because it looks good for those who want more performance than a mini-PC with ARM, but with a contained consumption and price. Like all these compacts, they will support Windows and Linux, and can be installed on consumer desktops, as well as in offices or living rooms.
