Blade Runner: Black Lotus, new trailer and video behind the scenes of the anime series

Blade Runner: Black Lotus, the anime of Adult Swim set in the sci-fi universe of Blade Runner, returns to show itself to the public with a new trailer and a behind-the-scenes video of the series.

Produced in collaboration with Crunchyroll, the series will follow the events of the new replicant Elle between the events of the two cinema films of 1982 and 2017, respectively directed by di Ridley Scott (Alien, The Last Duel) e Denis Villeneuve (Dunes).

When does the anime Blade Runner: Black Lotus come out?

Black Lotus, consisting of a total of thirteen episodes, will officially debut in streaming Crunchyroll starting Saturday November 13 at 18:00 with the first two episodes coming out one after the other.

Produced at Digital Arts only (Ultraman), the anime series sees the duo formed by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) e Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex). Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) is the creative producer while Mitsuhisa Ishikawa of the Production IG studio is a production consultant.

Alessia Cara, Canadian singer of Italian descent, is credited for the opening theme of Black Lotus entitled “Feel You Now”, both for the music of the entire series.

Plot of Blade Runner: Black Lotus

As previously mentioned, the story of Blade Runner: Black Lotus – set in 2032 Los Angeles – will follow the story of a brand new replicant named Elle (voiced by Arisa Shida in Japanese and Jessica Henwick in English), which was created for unknown purposes.

All that is known about her is that she woke up confused, with no recollection of her past.

Elle is also very gifted and will have some sort of role in the changing world of Blade Runner between the Tyrell Corporation from the original film and the Wallace Corporation from the sequel.
