How to create an Apple ID account without a payment method
The first thing you should know is the channels through which you can create an Apple ID. The first one is when we activate or We set up a device for the first time. It does not matter if this is new, second-hand or refurbished, because if we have restored the product to factory settings, then we will be asked for the initial configuration again, since there will be no trace of the data that could have been stored in its moment.
The second method is to through an Apple device that already has an activated account. To do this, we will have to close our session, or create a new user to be able to register the new Apple ID. The latter only happens on Macs, since neither the iPhone nor the iPad support (yet) multiple Apple IDs for the same user, simultaneously. Nor do they allow more than one user account to be created.
The third method with which we can create an Apple ID is through a computer with Windows operating system. If we want to do it from the computer itself, and without having to use the Apple website (we will see this later), we will have to download the latest version of iTunes available and, when we have installed and opened it for the first time, the program will give us the option to create the Apple ID.
The fourth way we can create an Apple ID is through the official website. In this case we can do it from a Windows computer, a Mac, an iPhone, an Android phone, etc. In this way, if we access the dedicated section, we can create our Apple ID from the web. All these methods have in common that, once created, we must confirm the activation through our email or our telephone number. So, once our activation is confirmed, the Apple ID will be fully functional.
Do not select any payment method
Once we are in the specific section to create our new Apple ID, we will have a series of information to fill in and steps to follow. In the first section we will be asked to enter our name and surname, our date of birth, email address and telephone number, our country of residence, our address and set the password. If we create our Apple ID from the web, we will not be asked for any payment method. But if we are on a device or through iTunes, this step will be required.
Next, the option to Add payment method will appear. In this case, Apple gives us a choice if we want to link a VISA, MasterCard, American Express, etc. card. O well, there is the option No payment method. To create our Apple ID without a credit card we must select this last option. So, whenever we want, we can add it later. When we select this option, we then get a few more steps (pure paperwork) to finish configuring the account. Keep in mind that opening an Apple ID is completely free and despite the fact that if we want to put a credit card we will not be charged anything, unless we want to buy something or sign up for one of its services.
