At CES in Las Vegas, held in early January 2023, Sennheiser unveiled several portable audio products. Among them are the IE 200, a pair of wired in-ear headphones to be connected with a 3.5 mm jack port. Intended for audiophiles and hi-fi enthusiasts, the IE 200 will be marketed at the end of January 2023 at a price of 150 euros.
If the CES in Las Vegas is above all the opportunity to discover the future innovations of television giants, such as LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony or even TCL, many other product lines are also present. Among these, there is of course the audio: soundbar, connected speakers, headphones and other headphones were obviously present in Nevada to put on the show. We want proof of this in the new products announced by Sennheiser.

The German brand has launched two products. First the Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus, TWS (true wireless stereo) in-ear headphones that are supposed to provide, according to the manufacturer, an ultimate audio experience in conversation. We will not fail to verify this promise during a test situation. And hope that the result is up to par, because their price is prohibitive: 849 euros, all the same. The other product, on which we have chosen to focus in this article, is much cheaper: these are the Sennheiser IE 200which will be sold at 149 euros from the end of January 2023.
Sennheiser presents wired headphones and 3.5 mm jack in 2023?
Why did you choose to talk more specifically about the IE 200? The reason is simple: these headphones are based on an almost ” traditionalist “. They are in-ear headphones. wired with a connection 3.5mm jack to connect them to a smartphone or other audio device. At a time when the biggest brands swear by wireless audio, especially in the segment of in-ear headphones, this product seems offbeat. And yet, Sennheiser promises a premium audio experience.
For this, the firm relies on several elements. First the construction of the headphones. Of braided nylon to ensure the strength of the wire connections. Of the plastic reinforcements for the passage above the ear which protects the product against stretching, but also ensures its sealing. Then the 7mm transducer paired with foam and silicone tips for isolation and bass enhancement.
Finally the connection jack, enhanced to deliver higher quality sound. Note that a record MMCX (coaxial microminiature) connects each earphone to the cable. If you have another compatible accessory (such as other models in Sennheiser’s IE range), you can use this cable. Or even replace it without changing the headphones. So here is a product that, on paper, seems very successful and which should offer a high experience for a price much softer than premium TWS headphones.
