Cogniti has decided to bet on the crowdfunding to bring new technologies closer to old people. Thus, the Valencian startup has launched a campaign to bridge the digital divide in this section of the population.
Cogniti is a free training platform Aimed at enabling older people to learn to use new communication technologies through simple tutorials. In this way, the team of this startup aims to reduce the digital divide in this sector of the population and contribute to their social inclusion.
This Valencian startup is part of the Col.lab program of La Naves, the innovation center of the Valencia City Council, and of the CO-CREA-TE network of Valencia Activa.
As Sebastián Fagonde, founder of Cogniti, explains, “Our goal is to support the elderly so that by feeling connected with their family and friends through technology they can combat loneliness, improve their self-esteem, stay independent, develop new mental abilities or be socially active, among many other benefits”.
Because through Cogniti, the elderly learn to use the mobile phone, the computer, the social networks, the most popular apps and carry out procedures online, all for free.
But to continue growing and offer more training to the elderly, Cogniti needs an economic injection, so as of today, April 26, the startup has a crowdfunding campaign through the Goteo platform: https:// drip.org/project/cogniti
Greater training content
The proceeds from this campaign will go towards providing the platform with more training content, disseminating the service so that more people can benefit from this free training and consolidating the team, which until now has carried out its work altruistically.
Cogniti is part of a movement of initiatives that have as a common goal promote social innovation and collaborate actively in the achievement of the different SDGs. Now, this company encourages society to support them in order to continue helping the elderly to stay active, self-sufficient and happy.
