Corsair MP700, an ultra-fast SSD to squeeze the power of PCIe 5

CORSAIR has announced the launch of the new generation of its SSD MP700which goes through the NVMe interface to take full advantage of the speeds provided by PCIe 5.0 and with the usual compatibility when using the M.2 2280 form factor.

The CORSAIR MP700 is an ultra-fast solid-state drive that relies on high-density 3D TLC NAND technology and is capable of up to 10,000 megabytes per second in both sequential read and sequential write, although to achieve that you have to use a good dissipation. It is officially supported by the interface PCIe 5.0 quad lane (x4)works with a voltage of 3.3 and supports 256-bit AES encryption as a means to protect user data.

In addition to the specifications of the SSD itself, the CORSAIR MP700 supports the feature DirectStorage from Microsoft, which allows all software that implements it (mainly video games) to transfer the decompression tasks of the data installed on the SSD drives to the GPU, thus reducing CPU usage and load times. Of course, DirectStorage is only present in DirectX 12 and in the software whose developer has decided to implement it.

The CORSAIR MP700 is an SSD designed with the aim of taking full advantage of the latest generation AMD and Intel platforms and offering the most agile system experience, although that should not prevent its use on older platforms in exchange for the expected reduction the speed of data transfer.

The CORSAIR MP700 SSD is available with 1TB and 2TB storage spaces so that the user can enjoy the latest generation video games without having to worry about the available space. The variant with the least amount of storage has a retail price of 194.99 euros, while the one with the largest amount officially costs 319.99 euros.
