CURS> A: Netflix bought the horror movie starring Asa Butterfield with a seven-figure check

After The space that unites us is Sex Education, Asa Butterfield will come up once again Netflix thanks to CURS> R, a horror film that the Californian video on demand company seems to have overpaid.

Netflix has bought CURS> R, the new horror film starring Asa Butterfield

According to reports from Deadline, Netflix would have reached a multimillion-dollar deal for the new film directed by Toby Meakins (which if you don’t know is only because it is his directorial debut). The exact figure of the agreement is not known, but there is talk of a rather generous 7-figure check.

In the cast of the film, along with Butterfield, will also be present Iola Evans (The 100), Eddie Marsan (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw), Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Kate Fleetwood (Harry Potter and the gifts of death: Part 1), Ryan Gage (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies), Angela Griffin (Last Chance Harvey) and Joe Bolland (The Trial of Christine Keeler).

The story of the film, whose screenplay was written by Simon Allen, is about a girl in financial difficulty (Evans) who drops out of college “To play an obscure 1980s survival computer game, in search of an unreclaimed $ 125,000 prize.” Unfortunately for her, “The game curses her, forcing her to face dangerous choices and challenges that distort reality. After a series of unexpectedly terrifying moments, he realizes that he is no longer playing for the money, but for his life ”.

Considering that we will never see an Ender’s Game sequel made, CURS> R seems like the closest opportunity to see Butterfield again struggling with a video game that becomes reality (and I don’t mind that at all).
