The most common is that we do not have it activated, because while it is deactivated the icon is never shown. Likewise, we may have accidentally clicked the Show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area, which would explain why it is absent. In case the button says «Deactivated», we press it so that it appears in blue and indicates «Activated».
