Not long ago we reported the news regarding the author Christopher Paolini who, through an appeal on social media, had asked his fans to support him in proposing the idea of a remake of Eragon at Disney. Well, today it is the same author who, through his official Instagram account, revealed that Disney “is interested” in the idea of making a remake series of Eragon.
Is an Eragon remake series feasible with Disney?
With a message to fans, Paolini explained that his appeal has worked, but also that it will probably take some time for a remake of Eragon to actually be made:
“Greetings, people of Alagaësia! Once again, I want to thank you for the incredible support and enthusiasm you showed during the #EragonRemake tweetstorm. It definitely caught the attention of Disney. Sadly, I’ve learned through official channels that – at this point in time – Disney is holding back from making other expensive series like Eragon until their business returns to pre-pandemic levels. Nonetheless, the tweetstorm really managed to get them to sit down and write it down. And if at some point the hashtag becomes trending again, I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt… Once again, thank you very much, and always remember: Atra esterní ono thelduin. “

The arrival of the Eragon movie in theaters and the subsequent box office flop brought it 20th Century Fox to set aside the idea of a film saga, whose rights today, after the acquisition of the studio by Mickey Mouse, have ended up in the hands of Disney.
