According to Reddit, some users claim that the 16-inch MacBook Pro does not always charge when completely turned off while others claim to have problems with external monitors that connect to the device when the computer is opened.

According to this user, Apple support states that it is investigating this problem and the temporary solution that they have proposed involves:

  1. Charge your MacBook Pro while it’s in sleep mode
  2. Charge your MacBook Pro with the lid open
  3. Connect the MagSafe cable before turning off your MacBook Pro

Apparently this problem not displayed when using the USB-C charging port.

Problems with external monitors

The other problem that users are also reporting is with external monitors connected to the MacBook Pro. According to various users, external monitors they do not wake up properly when the lid of the equipment is opened.
