On the other hand, version 6.2.8.7, build number PS6287/3768, coming to Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube 1st generation, and Fire TV 3rd generation also blocks launchers other than the official one.

According to the Fire OS 5 software update 5.2.8.7 coming to Fire TV Stick 2nd Gen, Fire TV Stick 1st Gen, and Fire TV 2nd Gen, it’s unclear if it blocks the use of custom launchers, but better safe than sorry.

Why has Amazon decided to block custom launchers?
