Square Enix has confirmed the requirements for Forspoken, one of the most anticipated games of 2023. Its release is scheduled for January 24, and it will be an exclusive for PS5 and PC, which means that it will be developed using the console’s hardware. of Sony as a base, good news because it will allow an important technical leap and level of graphic quality.
As you may have imagined, this leap in technical quality has an important consequence, and that is that it greatly increases Forspoken’s requirements compared to the previous generation. This is even more noticeable if we compare its requirements with those of an intergenerational game, because what we could previously consider as the recommended level has now become the minimum level.
That is the trend that we can expect in the games of the present generation, that is, in those that have not been developed for PS4 and Xbox One. However, I can already tell you that Forspoken’s requirements seem inflated, that the game won’t really need 32 GB of RAM, and that it will most likely work fine with 16 GB of RAM.
Forspoken Requirements
As minimum requirements to play in 720p and 30FPS we have the following:
- Windows 10 64-bit as the operating system.
- Intel Core i7-3770 (4 cores and 8 threads) or Ryzen 5 1600 (6 cores and 12 threads) processor. There is an equivalence error, the correct thing would be the Ryzen 5 1400 (4 cores and 8 threads).

- 24GB of RAM.
- GeForce RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card.
- 150 GB of free space on an SSD.
There is no list of recommended requirements for 1080p and 30FPSbut from one GeForce GTX 1660 Super or Radeon RX Vega 56 we should be able to enjoy that setup with no issues.
If we want to play 4K with ultra quality and keep 60 FPS We are going to need a very powerful PC:
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 64-bit as the operating system.
- Intel Core i7-12700 (12 cores and 20 threads) or Ryzen 7 5800X (8 cores and 16 threads) processor.
- 32GB of RAM.
- GeForce RTX 4080 or Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card. There is a serious equivalence error, the correct thing would be a GeForce RTX 3080.
- 150 GB of free space on an NVMe SSD to take advantage of DirectStorage.
