Samsung’s foldable Galaxy Z Fold 4 is coming in a few months, and it could take advantage of the new Galaxy S22 Ultra’s best feature: an S Pen stylus built right into the smartphone.
As Samsung showed off the new Galaxy S22s last week, all eyes are now on the next foldable smartphone from the Korean manufacturer: the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Before the official launch, we had already been able to discover first renderings which let us imagine what the new model could look like.
Our colleagues from The Elec have revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will inherit the best feature of Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra: a slot for the S Pen directly in the body of the smartphone. This integration was first introduced in the Galaxy Note series, but it seems that these are now the Galaxy Z Fold that will benefit from it.

An integrated stylus for the Galaxy Z Fold 4
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 was the first folding smartphone from Samsung to be compatible with the S Pen thanks to its UTG (ultra-thin glass) screen. However, you had to get a stylus separately if you wanted to write on your device. Now, on the new Galaxy Z Fold 4, we should find a dedicated place to store the stylus, and this one would be well delivered with the smartphone.
The Elec also reveals that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will feature slightly smaller screens than last year’s model. Indeed, the smartphone will bet on an internal 7.56-inch foldable display and an external 6.19-inch display. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 used 7.6 and 6.7 inch screens.
Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, corroborated this information and revealed that the external screen should be wider than on the current generation, thus improving typing comfort. What’s moreso we should end up with a more compact smartphone than the previous generation, like the Oppo Find N. As was the case in previous years, Samsung should unveil its new generation of foldable smartphones during the summer.
