The statements of the producers and actors on the second season of Good Omens

“Thirty-one years have passed since ‘Good Omens’ was released” said Neil Gaiman “Which means it’s been thirty-two since the night Terry Pratchett and I sat in our respective beds in a Seattle hotel room at a World Fantasy Convention and planned the sequel. I got to use parts of that sequel in ‘Good Omens’ – and that’s where our angels came from. Terry is no longer here, but when he was still with us we talked about what we wanted to do with ‘Good Omens’ and where the story should take. And now, thanks to BBC Studios and Amazon, I have the opportunity to take it in that very direction. I got wonderful collaborators and John Finnemore came aboard to take the baton with me. There are tons of questions people have asked about what happened next (and also what happened before) to our favorite angel and demon. And here are the answers you were hoping for. We will return to Soho to uncover, through time and space travel, a mystery that begins with an angel wandering around Soho without memory ”.

“Bringing Good Omens to my homeland in Scotland to shoot a second season” Douglas Mackinnon added “It is a dream come true for me. And with Michael Sheen and David Tennant again in the roles of Aziraphale and Crowley we really have an angel and a demon by our side. ”

“Terry and Neil always knew Crowley and Aziraphale were not one-story characters” Rob Wilkins said “And have long harbored plans to expand their adventures. The amazing performances of David and Michael have made it a real necessity. Terry would certainly have been very happy with how they brought his characters to life, and excited, as I am now, that a second season is in the works. ”

“Personally I’m against it, but the world won’t save itself, will it? If David and I manage not to get along too badly, this could also be the right time for us to get the job done “Michael Sheen said instead.

“The return of ‘Good Omens’ is fantastic news for me, as I will once again have the opportunity to work with Michael and to speak Neil’s fantastic words. It is perhaps worse news for the universe as it most likely means that there will be a new threat to existence to deal with, but, you know, a little is lost, a little is won “, said David Tennant.

‘Good Omens’ premiered worldwide on Prime Video as a limited series in May 2019 and is based on the 1990 novel, ‘Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch’, by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

The first season, winner of a Hugo Award and much appreciated by millions of passionate fans around the world, stars Michael Sheen, David Tennant, Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, Jack Whitehall, Miranda Richardson, Adria Arjona, Michael McKean, Anna Maxwell Martin, Mireille Enos, and many others. With this announcement, Amazon Studios confirm their agreement with Gaiman, with whom they have entered into an overall deal.
