House of the Dragon: the first trailer of the series is online!

The first trailer of House of the Dragon, the first spin-off series of The Throne of Swords coming in 2022, has landed on the net a few minutes ago.

The video lasts a minute and 17 seconds and, in the first few bars, shows the character of Daemon Targaryen played by Matt Smith. There is also room for Olivia Cooke. who we know will be featured on the show as Alicent Hightower. Everything then ends with an old acquaintance, or the Iron Throne (slightly different from how we remembered it).

House of the Dragon cast and details

As we know, the series will boast an impressive cast that includes Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best And Sonoya Mizuno.

House of the Dragon is inspired by the novel Fire and Blood by George RR Martin. The story is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of the House of Targaryen. The series looks like it will propose the story that will lead to the civil war of the house, known as the legendary Dance of Dragons, wich was “A massive civil war in the Seven Kingdoms held between two rival branches of House Targaryen”.

HBO ordered House of the Dragon in October 2019, with the first 10 episodes already confirmed. George RR Martin, Vince Gerardis, Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik are executive producers on the show, with Condal and Sapochnik also serving as showrunners.

House of the Dragon release date expected “somewhere” in the course of 2022.
