If the new Zelda came to Game Boy Color it would look like this

Over the last few decades we have seen all kinds of remakes of games, some better and others worse. Also, we have assisted in recent years to the fever for demakeswhich take a current title and transform it into another vintage, super pixelated and that brings us back to old consoles like Game Boy, NES, etc. Do you know what they have done now with the new Zelda?

Tears of Nintendo Switch

Well, besides remakes and demakes –which are usually partially playable in many cases– are the exercises what if… in which a user plays to imagine how would any title run through the guts of an impossible console. And that’s exactly what happened today, with a couple of creatives who have taken The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and they have tried to put it on the screen of a small Game Boy Color.

The result is still a curiosity for the very coffee-loving games of Zelda, because it tries to make us see what it would have looked like if the new Switch release for the legendary Game Boy Color had landed. And it must be said that, what is seen on the screen, reminds us a lot of The Legend of Zelda Links Awakeningone of the most acclaimed and remembered cartridges by Nintendo fans.

As you can see in the video they posted, They have imagined intro scenes in the purest Japanese animation style of the 80s and in the scenes of gameplay They have transformed some of the passages seen in the trailers published by the Japanese in recent months to recreate the same pixelated images. A great job that obviously will remain only in what you see in the video and in the subsequent virality, leaving any project to carry it out in something impossible.

Besides that gameplay reimagined, Channy & Kimberly –the creators– have had time to design a packaging for Game Boy Color box and a special edition of the console very much in line with what Nintendo usually launches with each new Zelda game. Golden colours, stamping with an identifying symbol and a lot of imagination.

Imminent release of the new Zelda

remember that will be next May 5 when the new The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom hit the stores, something more than six years after the first one and promising to be even more incredible, something that we will be able to verify and say here when the time comes. Of course, the title looks monumental but with it we will be able to check if all those innovations in the classic formula of the saga seen in Breath of the Wild are maintained or if they move forward again with better ideas.

Be that as it may, it is a new Zelda and that, within the video game industry, it’s always an event because it is not a franchise that, in these times, can be seen too many times over a few years. But Nintendo does well, that the little pleases and the much tires.
