Two French references in illegal downloading and streaming have just bowed out. Indeed, Zone-Telechargement and Tirexo have announced their official closure this Monday, April 25, 2022.
A hard blow for those who like to download the latest fashionable series. In effect, two French references for illegal downloading and streaming have just announced their official closure. The administrators of Zone-Telechargement.cam and Tirexo confirmed the news on Monday April 25, 2022.
“It is on these few lines that we announced the closure of the ZT site […] We have closed all old and new domains linked to our Download Zone site (including ForumZT)! The database will be completely destroyed and the CMS will not be released, so there will be no recovery/continuation”, announce the operators of Zone-Telechargement on the homepage of the site.
Same bitterness at Tirexo, one of the most important illegal streaming sites in France : “The Tirexo adventure ends there. Thank you for everything. You can rage, yell, insult us (yes, yes, we’re entitled to that, I had to remove comments, it hurt my heart), it won’t take anything away from what we’ve done for us and you until ‘here. Bye”, could read on the portal this Sunday.

A permanent closure for Zone-Telechargement and Tirexo?
If you remember correctly, this is not the first time that Zone-Telechargement has closed its doors. In 2016, the French police carried out several searches within the premises of the platform located in Andorra. The administrators had been imprisoned, and computer equipment and money were seized. Despite this operation, several Zone-Telechargement mirror sites were then createdallowing the model to survive.
In fact, will Zone-Telechargement come back again? According to the statement of the current administrators, there will be no recovery or copying. In fact, everything suggests that this is indeed the end of the download site. Another unanswered question remains: Why are these two illegal streaming/downloading sites announcing the cessation of their activities at the same time? If no justification has been given by the administrators, everything suggests that the French authorities are hiding behind this closure.
The Audiovisual Anti-Piracy Association said on Twitter that it does not want “no comment at this stage“. Of course, we will update this article as soon as we have more information.
