Intel will launch the Intel Xeon Sapphire Rapids and its new Max GPUs on January 10

The chip giant has confirmed what was an open secret, that Xeon Sapphire Rapids processors will hit the market on January 10, 2023a highly anticipated launch that will be accompanied by an exceptional guest, the new Max GPUs for data centers.

About the Intel Xeon Sapphire Rapids we have already given you a lot of information, and we do not have any important news right now, so everything that we have told you in previous articles is maintained. This generation will use the golden cove architecturewhich means that they represent a significant improvement in terms of IPC compared to the previous generation, and will use a modular design based on core blocks that will allow the chip giant to reach a maximum of 56 cores and 112 threads per CPU.

These new processors will have a version known as the “Max Series”, which will include up to 64 GB HBM2e memory located very close to each of the blocks that contain the CPU cores. It is important to note that this new generation of Intel processors is a clear commitment to specialization, although the chip giant has not forgotten about raw power, and we can expect a very big leap compared to the generation.

Intel GPU MAX series

According to Intel, the Xeon Max Series will offer up to 5 times more performance than AMD EPYC 7003 in certain tasks, and we know from previous information that the TDP of the most powerful models will be around 350 watts. This new generation of processors will use the Eagle Stream platform with Socket E, will have a maximum of 112 MB of L3 cache memory, will be compatible with DDR5 memory at 4,800 MHz natively and will support the PCIe Gen standard (up to 80 lanes).

The Max Series GPUs also represent a major breakthrough from Intel. They are based on architecture Xe HPC (high performance computing), will have up to 128 units to speed up ray tracing, they will have up to 128 GB of HBM2e memory to maximize bandwidth, will be available in both PCIe and SMX formats, and in configurations with a TDP that will scale from 300 to 600 watts.

We still do not have details about the sale prices of these two new generations of Intel, but it is likely that we will find out on January 10. In VeryComputer Pro We will tell you all the details from that same dayso stay tuned.
