iPadOS 16 improves multitasking and introduces support for external displays

With iPadOS 16 the giant of the bitten apple has blurred a little more the already thin line that separated their devices of its mobile solutions (tablets and smartphones), thanks to the inclusion of important innovations focused on improving multitasking and supporting external screens.

The “Stage Manager” function (Visual Organizer) that iPadOS 16 brings allows us to more easily visualize several applications, and simultaneously. We can display up to eight applications at the same time, four on the iPad and another four on an external screen, which will undoubtedly be of great help to improve our productivity in multitasking.

Until now, we could only display two applications in split screen, so this new feature represents a major improvement, there is no doubt about that. We can also work with overlapping windows, and we can bring new windows to the foreground by dragging them from the side or opening them from the system dock. The entire interface is very intuitive and very easy to manage and use.

The Visual Organizer is also coming to the next version of macOS, known as Ventura, and will work in an automated way to deliver the best experience possible. Thus, it will leave the application with which we are currently working in the foreground, and will move the rest to the left, sorted in order of use (newest first). We can switch between them easily, as we have already mentioned.

Apple has confirmed that in order to use this new feature in iPadOS 16 we will have to have an iPad Air an iPad Pro equipped with a chip Apple M1. It goes without saying that this limits its availability to the most current equipment from the apple giant, and that leaves out the 2020 iPad Pro equipped with the Apple A12Z Bionica very powerful chip that, however, is already beginning to run out of important functions.
