In 2020, Carrefour launched a voice command shopping service via Google Assistant. Today, Leader Price presents its response, less high tech but just as practical for those in a hurry.

This time, it’s on WhatsApp that it’s happening. The messaging app, through a chatbot, can now act as a gateway to its Club Leader Price platform. WhatsApp therefore serves as a means of communication with the platform. Rather than going directly to the site, the user can choose to chat with a chatbot to get the site link with a simple “hello”. You will first need to scan the QR code available on social networks and on the Leader Price website to access the conversation.

Then just do your shopping as usual and confirm your basket. The user is then redirected to the conversation, where the chatbot offers to proceed with the payment. He can then pay for his shopping via Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. Count all the same 5 € of delivery costs if the amount of your purchases does not exceed 50 €.

As for the use of your personal data, Leader Price has not communicated on the subject. The question is on the other hand legitimate, because it is the discussions with the companies which have been at the heart of the scandal which erupted early last year. Nevertheless, users can be reassured by consulting the list of data collected by WhatsApp, of which the Leader Price chatbot is not part.
